Malta International Table Tennis Centre

 In the other match which saw our Premiere Team in action MITTC JOOLA composed of young James Camilleri & Luca Minuti partenerd with our experienced player Alex Anastasi went down to the University team by 8-1. It is to be noted that this was the first appearance in the elite division by James & Luca and the performance of our talented youngsters was of a higher standard.

 MITTC 'Butterfly' won its first match in the opening day of the National League which is being organised by the Malta Table Tennis Association. The team was composed of David Gauci Borda, Kurt Craus and Mark Vella.

 The Malta International Table Tennis Centre situated in Tarxien have just concluded a 10 day training camp for its members with the participation of a Polish Table Tennis club from Gdansk. This was held in its Centre at Tarxien on 10 tables under the guidance of Polish Coach Andrejz Makowski who this season followed the Maltese National Team at the GSSE winning no less than 3 medals.  The Camp proved a great experience to all members of MITTC .

 The Malta Table Tennis Association successfully organised a Veterans Tournament at the Malta International Table Tennis Centre in Tarxien. Rawreth TTC from UK participated with a strong team of nine players who together with the Maltese players entertained the spectators present. Thanks goes to the Rawreth Captain Dave Calleja for his excellent organisation of the English group. It is envisaged that a return match will be held in England next year.

 The Malta International Table Tennis Centre held a Training Camp in Tarxien for its youth players with the participation of an Italian club from Marsala. The intensive Camp was very well organised by professional coaches who prepared a program for the youth players. At the end of the Camp a Tournament was held followed by a presentation night at the Kastell Restaurant.  

The Malta International Table Tennis Centre is proud to have Daniel Bajada Malta's No.1 Ranked player, Mark Azzopardi Ranked No.2 and Claudio Tufigno Ranked No.4  representing Malta at the 2010 World Table Tennis Championships.
Malta will play in Group Q and to-day at 4p.m. they will play against Laos in their first match. The Maltese officials are Mario Genovese Coach and Johanna Grech Official Delegate.

 For the first time the Malta International Table Tennis Centre (Tarxien) have succeeded to win the 1st Division League title after narrowly beating Melita by 5-4 in a very interesting match played at the University Pavillion (Photo of League Champions Attached from left to right Daniel Bajada, Claudio Tufigno, Mark Azzopardi together with MTTA President Joe Borg Cardona). Valletta TTC have been relegated to Division II, whilst GO TTC will have to play a play-off match with San Gwann Flutisat to decide who will play in the top division next year.
